South Korea imposes 21.62% anti-dumping duty on Chinese hot-rolled stainless steel plates
The Trade Commission of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea said on June 26 that after investigation, it was determined that China’s imported stainless steel plates were dumped.
It caused substantial damage to South Korea’s domestic industry.
It decided to recommend to the Minister of Planning and Finance to impose a 21.62% anti-dumping duty for a period of five years.
Why?
South Korean stainless steel manufacturer DKC filed an anti-dumping investigation application with the Trade Commission of the Ministry of Industry of South Korea in June last year, accusing China of dumping imported stainless steel plates, which caused the company to suffer losses.
The Trade Commission of the Ministry of Industry of South Korea conducted a preliminary investigation and preliminarily determined that dumping occurred, and recommended that the Ministry of Finance impose a temporary anti-dumping duty.
Based on this, the Ministry of Finance of South Korea announced that a temporary anti-dumping duty of 21.62% will be imposed on imported stainless steel thick plates from China from March 2025.
