What is a stainless steel plate?
What is a stainless steel plate?
stainless plate is a plate made of stainless steel as the main material, and its main components are alloy elements such as iron, chromium and nickel. The addition of chromium forms a dense oxide film on its surface, which has excellent corrosion resistance.
Stainless steel plates are widely used in industrial manufacturing, architectural decoration, medical equipment and other fields.
Classification of stainless metal sheet
Classification of stainless steel by structure:
Austenitic stainless steel (such as 304, 316): strong corrosion resistance, non-magnetic, suitable for food processing and chemical equipment.
Martensitic stainless steel (such as 410, 420): high hardness, good wear resistance, commonly used in knives and mechanical parts.
Ferritic stainless steel (such as 430): low cost, general corrosion resistance, suitable for household appliances and decorative materials.
Duplex stainless steel (such as 2205): has the advantages of both austenite and ferrite, high strength and strong corrosion resistance.
Classification of stainless steel metal plates by surface treatment:
1D: The surface is discontinuous and granular, called matte. Hot rolling + annealing shot peening pickling + cold rolling + annealing pickling.
2D: Slightly silvery white. Hot rolling + annealing shot peening pickling + cold rolling + annealing pickling.
2B Silvery white with better surface gloss and flatness than 2D.
Treatment method: Hot rolling + annealing shot peening pickling + cold rolling + annealing pickling + tempering rolling. Suitable for general industrial use.
BA surface: highly polished, often used for decorative purposes. The surface has excellent gloss and high reflectivity, just like a mirror. Hot rolling + annealing shot peening pickling + cold rolling + annealing pickling + surface polishing + tempering rolling.
No.1 surface: untreated after hot rolling, suitable for industrial use.
MIRRO mirror surface. Use 2D products or 2B products with abrasive materials of appropriate particle size to grind and polish to a mirror effect.
No.4 has good glossiness and fine surface texture. Processing procedure: polish and temper roll 2D or 2B with 150~180 abrasives (JIS R6002).
HL :Silver gray with hairline texture. Polish the continuous abrasive surface with 2D products or 2B products and abrasives of appropriate particle size.

Classification of ss steel plate by thickness:
Thin plates: less than 3mm thick, suitable for precision parts, decoration, etc.
Medium plates: 3-20mm thick, suitable for construction, machinery manufacturing, etc.
Thick plates: greater than 20mm thick, suitable for heavy machinery, ships, etc.
Performance of stainless steel plate
Physical properties of stain steel plate:
Density: about 7.93g/cm³.
Melting point: about 1400-1450℃.
Thermal conductivity: low, about 15W/m·K.
Magnetism: Austenitic stainless steel is usually non-magnetic, while martensitic and ferritic stainless steel are magnetic.
Chemical properties of stainless metal plate:
Corrosion resistance: the higher the chromium content, the stronger the corrosion resistance.
Oxidation resistance: can remain stable at high temperatures.
Acid and alkali resistance: good resistance to most acids and alkalis.
Performance characteristics of stainless steel plates
Corrosion resistance: suitable for humid and corrosive environments.
High strength: suitable for bearing high loads.
Easy to process: can be processed by cutting, welding, bending, etc.
Beautiful: smooth surface, suitable for decorative purposes.
Production process of ss plate:
Raw material preparation: Select suitable stainless steel material.
Hot rolling: Heat the billet and roll it to the required thickness.
Cold rolling: Further rolling to improve surface quality and dimensional accuracy.
Annealing: Eliminate internal stress and improve mechanical properties.
Surface treatment of stainless steel plate: Such as polishing, pickling, etc.
Cutting: Cut into specific sizes according to customer requirements.
Packaging: Protect the surface and prevent damage during transportation.
